For more than 10 years, Dr. Alejandro Piedra has brought a calm, thoughtful presence to each and every dental visit and patient interaction. However, Dr. Piedra blends this compassionate, thoughtful patient focus with knowledge of the most timely technologies and techniques to support your best experience and outcomes from treatment. A graduate of the University of Florida College of Dentistry, Dr. Piedra has gone on to be awarded the Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI) designation. As an FICOI, Dr. Piedra acquired and demonstrated exceptional expertise in dental implant education, and he continues to stay on top of the latest in the field.
As Dr. Piedra puts it: “I am a big believer in lifelong learning – whether it’s the latest dental technology or fascinating breakthroughs in science and genetics.” This curiosity was shaped in undergrad as a microbiology and cell science major, and it continues to drive Dr. Piedra today. This commitment to learning is further demonstrated with the completion of comprehensive training in implant dentistry through the nationally-acclaimed Augusta University AAID MaxiCourse®, and with his certification in adult oral sedation dentistry from DOCS Education.
Outside of the office
When Dr. Piedra is not caring for the patients that he values most, he values spending time with his family. He is an avid soccer fan, traveler, and adventurer — and sometimes combines these passions (like when he cheered on his favorite international teams during the 2018 World Cup). Dr. Piedra dreams of attending a World Cup Final one day and visiting all seven continents.
